The Education Summit, organized in Lagos and Abuja by the United Kingdom for Nigeria Boarding Schools Week, is set to provide quality education opportunities to children through the gathering of top British schools and parents. The event, taking place from May 3-6 at Transcorp Hilton Abuja and The Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos, has the blessings of the British Deputy High Commission in Lagos and is being put together by Mark Brooks Education, an award-winning educationalist who has been advising West African families for 15 years. The Department for Business & Trade (DBT) of the UK is also involved in the organization of the event.
According to Mark Brooks, the UK has become a popular destination for families seeking outstanding boarding schools for their children. Additionally, many parents are selecting summer school options with an academic emphasis and educational benefits. British schools such as TASIS England, Earlscliffe College, Infinitum Education, and Lisa McGee Summer Schools, offer a variety of academic and creative courses ranging from 3D Design to Sports Science, Performing Arts to STEM.
The courses and programs aim to develop students' confidence, creativity, entrepreneurship, innovation, and science skills. Lisa McGee Summer Schools, for example, provides university life experiences and lectures, particularly in STEM subjects, in high-quality, safe, and fun residential settings set in stunning rural facilities in the historic heart of North East England.
Infinitum Education's Young Leaders Programme (YLP) is an immersive academic summer camp where ambitious youth connect with and learn from the world's top leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs. Students can enjoy a unique blend of on-campus training where they study entrepreneurship, innovation, or the sciences under renowned academics (Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard) and corporate executives (McKinsey & Company, AstraZeneca).
The Education Summit aims to provide quality education to children through British schools and programs that are geared towards developing the students' creativity, innovation, and leadership skills.
