Job Alawari-Kei, a 300-level student of Petroleum and Gas Engineering at the Federal University of Otuoke (FUO), Bayelsa State, has reportedly died after an alleged overdose of illicit drugs. According to reports, the 19-year-old collapsed and passed away after consuming Colo, a drug known locally in the area.
The State Police Command's spokesperson, Asinim Butswat, has confirmed the incident, saying that the corpse of the late student has been deposited at a hospital for autopsy. Investigations are currently ongoing.
In a statement, Butswat disclosed that on May 3rd, 2023, at approximately 10 p.m., Job Alawari-Kei "slumped after intake of illicit substances." He was quickly rushed to a hospital where he was later confirmed dead.
