The Supreme Court is set to hear the case of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) tomorrow. Despite the federal government's repeated attempts to prosecute Kanu, they have lost every case thus far. Now, they are resorting to their last card by taking the case to the Supreme Court.
However, if the federal government employs their old tactics of seeking amendment, adjournment, or unnecessary delay to keep Kanu behind bars, the learned Justices must dismiss the case against him, with or without prejudice, and order his immediate and unconditional release.
It is important to note that the Supreme Court is the highest court of the land and should not be used as a playground for the federal government to carry out their agenda. The learned Justices must uphold the rule of law and ensure justice is served in this case.
