Bomb explosion rips through Yola mosque, killing scores and leaving many wounded.

A bomb explosion occurred Friday afternoon at a mosque in Jambutu area of Jimeta, Adamawa State.

Jimeta, a suburb of Yola, the Adamawa State Capital experienced the explosion which specifically targeted the newly repainted mosque as worshipers were getting ready for prayers.

Although the exact number of deaths is yet to be determined, emergency workers have made efforts to evacuate victims to Specialist Hospital in Jimeta and Federal Medical Centre in Yola. 

A health worker confirmed that staff of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have deposited at least 15 corpses in the mortuary while over 30 injured victims are being treated in the hospitals.
