The U.S Vice President, Joe Biden has compared notes on the war against terrorism with President Muhammadu Buhari in Washington DC on Monday, revealing the military and socio-economic options of the war against terrorism.
At the meeting, held at the Naval Observatory, official residence of Vice President, Biden shared with President Buhari what the U.S. had learnt from the terror war, emphasizing that "victory cannot come from military option alone.’’
Biden stressed that strong socio-economic support programmes must also accompany the military option.
Seasoned technocrats he urged, should manage key sectors of the Nigerian economy, and only then would investors be attracted to the country.
President Muhammadu Buhari appreciated the U.S. for standing by Nigeria in the run up to general elections, pointing out that the visit of the Secretary of State, John Kerry, was critical as showed that America would not welcome the subversion of the people's will at the polls.
