Latest reports have it that troops have arrested 33 suspects in Damboa axis around Azir-Wajiroko road, Borno State, who specialize in supplying food to Boko Haram terrorists.
The Army revealed that "The 33 suspected Boko Haram accomplices were arrested with large quantity of food stuffs meant for Boko Haram terrorists at Korode."
According to the statement by Colonel Sani Usman Acting Director Army Public Relations, though some of them claimed to be traders, "they did not however deny buying and selling food items to the terrorists."
The Army spokesperson said interrogation was still ongoing to unravel their level of involvement with terrorist activities.
In a related development, troops also discovered and successfully destroyed Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) planted by Boko Haram terrorists at Sandia village along Korode road.
Troops also rescued more men, women and children who were earlier abducted by the terrorists at Buduwa area, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
The Army spokesperson noted that while the Army was trying hard to ensure safety of the rescued persons, it would not take anything for granted "as some of them are suspected terrorists."
