Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos State have arrested three members of two different gangs of armed robbers who attacked motorists and commuters during traffic gridlocks in the state.
Rapid Response Squad (RRS) commander, Olatunji Disu, confirmed the arrest to Tribune Online, saying they were arrested around Orile Iganmu and Mile 2 areas RRS team, who responded to distress calls by victims of robbery attacks in traffic.
Two of the robbery suspects were arrested around 11.00 p.m. on July 31, around the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu.
The Rapid Response Squad in the state also arrested a member of a notorious syndicate who terrorize the Mile 2 area of the metropolis, snatching vehicles and robbing residents..
The suspect, identified as Ugochukwu Otuneme, a 33 year old man, was sighted attacking his victim in traffic, after breaking one of the mirrors of his vehicle.
Otuneme confessed to the crime and added that he always carried out robbery with a member of his gang, who is now at large.
