Jack Wilshere, 23, of Arsenal is likely to miss this weekend's Premier League opener against West Ham due to an ankle injury.
He picked up an injury in training on Saturday Press Association Sport reports.
Although according to Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, Wilshere is only expected to be out for days but reports from other quarters say he may be out for longer.
Jack Wilshere, was missing from the squad that beat Chelsea 1-0 in the Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday and if he doesn't recover in time, he is also likely to miss their outing against the Hammers at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
He missed almost six months of the Premier League campaign last season, appearing in just 14 due to an ankle surgery in November 2014 and a similar follow-up procedure in February.
