Boko Haram attack in Borno repelled by Nigerian Army and Air Force

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in a combined effort with the Nigerian Army successfully repelled Boko Haram terrorist (BHT) attacks on Bita village in Borno State.

This was disclosed in a statement signed on Sunday by the Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI), NAF, Air Commodore Dele Alonge.

Alonge said that, NAF, using its Alpha jet, provided combat air support to the ground force to repel the terrorists who were observed to be mobilizing to carry out a deadly attack on the village.

According to him, a a large number of insurgents were killed in the operation, carried out by Nigerian forces in the area.

Alonge said the air force would continued to provide combat air support to the ground force in all operations carried out by Nigerian troops in the north-east.

“The Nigerian air force using its Alpha-Jet, provided combat air support to the ground force to attack the insurgents where they were observed to be mopping up to carry out a deadly attack on the village,” the statement read. “Consequently, a large number of the insurgents were killed and several others, injured.”
