Buhari expresses concern over delay in payment of teachers' salaries

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr MacJohn ‎Nwaobiala‎, has revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed concern over delay in the payment of teachers' salaries.

At a briefing in Abuja, where Nwaobiala assured that the government would look into the controversy over cut-off marks for students seeking admission into Nigerian universities, he said, the President was not pleased with the delay in teachers' salaries.

governments he proclaimed.


‎Nwaobiala‎, had led a delegation of the Ministry of Education to a briefing with the President in Abuja. He said that the President was "pained" by the plight of the teachers, some of who were owed up to 12 months' salary arrears.

‎He also indicated that the President frowned at the low rating of Nigerian universities among their peers around the World.
