Governor Wike, during an inspection tour of the Rumuola-Rumuokwuta flyover and Magistrates Court building, revealed that the President-elect would visit Rivers State for two days next week to commission the projects. He commended the contractor for the excellent work done on the Magistrates Court building, which was completed on time, adding that the project is unique and cannot be found anywhere in that part of the country.
The Governor disclosed that during the President-elect's visit to Rivers State in February 2023, he was informed that he would be invited to commission some of the landmark projects of his administration. He further explained that other presidential candidates from other political parties, such as the Labour Party and New Nigeria Peoples Party, were invited to commission projects during their campaigns, and he had promised to invite the President-elect after the elections. Governor Wike expressed his delight that his administration was able to complete the construction of 12 flyovers in the last four years, and that the people of Rivers State would attest to his administration's commitment to delivering on its promises.
As part of the activities to mark the inauguration of the incoming administration in Rivers State, several other projects have been earmarked for inauguration. These include the Intelligence Centre in Rumueprikom, remodelled Prof. Kesley Harrison and Dental and Maxillofacial hospitals, among others.
The completion of the Rumuola-Rumuokwuta flyover and the Magistrates Court building will significantly ease traffic congestion and reduce travel time for motorists and commuters. The flyover will also provide a safer and more convenient transportation system for the residents of the city.
The commissioning of the Rumuola-Rumuokwuta flyover and the Magistrates Court building is a significant milestone for the Rivers State Government. The completion of these landmark projects will enhance transportation infrastructure in the state and improve the lives of the residents.
