Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Peter Orubebe, who made attempts at disrupting the proceedings of the 2015 presidential election collation, will be dragged to the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on a four-count charge on the 9th November, 2015.

The offences for which he is to be arraigned border on breach of Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and Tribunal Act.

The charges, filed on the 8th of October 2015, on behalf of Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) borders on false declaration of assets and acceptance of bribe for contract award.

Orubebe is being charged for failing to declare plot 2722 Kyamu District Abuja on assumption of office as Minister on 26th September 2007 and on leaving office on May 29, 2011, an offence punishable under under section 15 of Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act (as amended)”.

He is also accused of failing to declare another property on plot 2059 Asokoro district, Abuja, on assumption of office as Minister and on leaving in 2011.

Other charges include asking for and accepting the sum of fifty million Naira from one Pastor (Dr) Jonathan Alota as bribe for awarding a contract to his company, Chemtronics Nigeria Limited and another twenty million Naira bribe from the same person for the construction of skill acquisition centre at Edo State while he was a minister.

The construction of the Skill acquisition centre was said to have been awarded for the sum of one billion seven hundred and ninety nine million, nine hundred and fourteen thousand two hundred and fifty naira eighty eight kobo only (1,799,914,251.88).
