Manchester United's Wayne Rooney has praised the club's former boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, describing him as the greatest manager of all time.
Sir Alex Ferguson, 73, signed Rooney from Everton in 2004, but mostly had what the England captain has described as "differences".
In his 2013 autobiography, the former Man Utd manager had criticized Rooney's fitness levels and ability to take on instructions.
"In a training ground exercise he wouldn’t absorb new ideas or methods quickly" Ferguson said about Rooney. "His instinct was to revert to type, to trust what he already knew."
Rooney has however expressed that all they had were differences and not that they didn't like each other.
"I don't know if anyone knows how things ended (between us)," Rooney said.
"We had differences. That's normal. Ask Roy (Hodgson, the England manager) -- he's had differences with other players.
"That's part of football." Rooney continued. "I'm not the only person who had differences with Sir Alex Ferguson, but I can still sit here and say he was the greatest manager of all time.
"I still see Sir Alex quite a bit at games and he travels away to European games with us. It's not that we don't like each other. We just had differences. That's normal."
The former Man Utd manager however won 13 league titles and two Champions Leagues.
