President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Nigeria for France via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Buhari, who is on a three-day official visit was reportedly invited by the French President Francois Hollande.
According to Presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, he would be accompanied by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major-Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd.); the chief executives of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
Other members of his entourage are the Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Ministries of Defence, Finance, Agriculture, Foreign Affairs, Industry, Trade and Investment.
Buhari’s talks in Paris with Hollande and other senior French government officials will focus on strengthening the ongoing bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and France in the areas of defence, investments, security and trade.
The president is also scheduled to meet with African ambassadors to France and to hold an interactive session with members of the Nigerian community there.
He is expected back in the country on Wednesday.
