Scores of Boko Haram members have surrendered to the Nigerian troops, reports from the Army revealed.
According to a statement by Col. Sani Usman, Acting Director Army Public Relations, the new strategies employed by the military were yielding positive results "with scores of terrorists surrendering to troops and many more willing to surrender"
The military's sustained offensive operations, pre-emptive air strikes, among others have left members of the sect with no other option but to surrender, revealing mass panic and hysteria among the sect.
" Terrorists also seem to have an inkling of what happens to surrendered suspects as regards screening and de-radicalization of innocent ones among them" the statement read.
The Army, Airforce and other security agencies "will continue to devise and implement effective strategies to bring Boko Haram terrorism to a speedy end" the statement added, assuring that surrendering suspects will continue to be received.
