A 79 year old Norwegian man swam slightly over 2,600 feet of fjord – clad in a bow tie – to marry his bride on the rocks The Local reports .
Trygve Bernhardsen, was happy to marry his bride Hertzberg, 69 and to prove his excitement, he decided to swim a distance of 800 metres in 14C (57F) water to his own wedding.
Hertzberg, who confirmed Bernhardsen is an avid swimmer said "He didn't want to marry me unless he was allowed to swim to
his bride, and I thought that was great."

Bernhardsen was accompanied by his two grandchildren on the swim, which was fortunate, because he revealed the 14-degree Celsius water started to get to him towards the end of the swim.
"It was terribly cold" he said "I could feel the cold towards the end of the swim. My legs were completely stiff."
Hertzberg and her new groom Bernhardsen met 15 years ago when he tied his yacht near her home.
“I was never afraid. He’s like a seal." she said "This swim was nothing for him. I have found the best man in the world"
