Reports have confirmed that a suicide bomb attack occurred at a police checkpoint in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital and at least five persons have been killed while some were injured.
Those injured, according to reports have already been taken to the Damaturu Specialist Hospital in Yobe.
The suicide bombers, on Monday afternoon approached the checkpoint in a Highlander SUV, which was used to detonate the Improvised Explosive Devices according to reports.
Sources say the bombers were trapped at the checkpoint when they sensed the police personnel was about taking them to the Police headquarters for further interrogation which made the suspected terrorists detonate the explosives.
The incident has been confirmed by the Police Public relations Officer, in Yobe State, Mr. Toyin Gbadegesin.
