The President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, has said the inability of some state governors to pay salaries of workers is as a result of corruption.
In a courtesy visit paid him by the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, ICPC, Ekpo Nta, the senate president stated that corruption was affecting the progress of the country and the 8th Assembly has made it a priority to fight corruption.

He further emphasized that the goal of the Senate included working with the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) to significantly reduce the level of corruption in the country.
The ICPC chairman assured that the commission would do its best to check graft in the country.
