Explosions in Northern Nigeria, NEMA calls on public to donate blood

The Director General of NEMA Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi has made a call to the public to help donate blood for treatment of the victims of Zaria bomb blast that have been evacuated to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) Shika.

In making the call he said the request was urgent to help the victims who have lost much blood in the attack survive. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is therefore calling on the public to help donate blood.

About 25 lives have been lost and 32 injured in the explosion that occurred at the premises of Sabon Gari Local Government Secretariat, Zaria, around 9am on Tuesday morning.

He appreciated the prompt response in the evacuation of the victims of the explosion and assured that NEMA would provide immediate support in the deployment of medical consumables and drugs for the treatment of the victims in the hospital.
