| Rtd. Brigadier General P.T. Boroh |
President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a retired Brigadier General, P.T. Boroh, as the Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme for ex-militants of the Niger Delta region.
Mr. Boroh, whose appointment takes immediate effect, is to take over from Kingsley Kuku, the former Special Adviser to President Jonathan on Niger Delta affairs, who also doubled as Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme.
Last week, Mr. Kuku was summoned by the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission on allegation of massive looting of funds meant for the amnesty programme.

He however declined EFCC’s request to report for questioning on July 28th on medical grounds, promising to do so on September 30th.
The appointment of a new Coordinator for the programme will hopefully expedite the resolution of recent hitches in payment of outstanding allowances to ex-militants and other challenges.
