Fire guts Owode Market in Kwara

 Shops at the popular Owode Market in Offa, Offa Local Government area in Kwara State, were in the early hours of Saturday morning ravaged by fire.

Visuals available to us show a lot of wreckage caused by the fire incident. Millions of properties were destroyed and as at the time of this report, the cause was yet to be known.

In Dec, 2011, the market suffered a similar fire outbreak that destroyed goods worth fortunes, ranging from food items, textiles and jewelleries, among other goods



UPDATE!!! - The cause of the fire is believed to be a spark from an electric fuse in one of the buildings.
