The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday searched the residence of a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, in connection with ongoing investigation of alleged corrupt practices.

The UK's National Crime Agency (NCA) coincidentally has allegedly arrested an ex-Minister and four others in the UK for allegations of bribery and corruption.

The identities of the five suspects arrested have however not been revealed by the NCA.

The British High Commission in Nigeria confirmed that some arrests were made Friday but declined to disclose the identities of those involved.

EFCC operatives reportedly stormed the posh residence of the ex-Minister at about 5pm on Friday with a warrant.
