Nigerian troops in Mafa and Dikwa on a joint fighting patrol have arrested a suspected Boko Haram financier and stimulants dealer in Bama Local Govt Area of Borno State.

According to a statement by Colonel Sani Usman, Acting Director Army Public Relations, the soldiers also raided a Boko Haram camp at Bulungwa Naibe in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State on Monday and killed "quite a number of Boko Haram terrorists"

Some of the items recovered included 1 Buffalo vehicle mounted with an Anti-Aircraft Gun, a Rocket Propelled Grenade, 2 Machine Guns and 1 Sub-machine Gun. 

Other items included 5 AK-47 rifles, 1 Fabrique Nationale rifle and 2 Sewing Machines used by the Boko Haram terrorists for sewing uniforms.

A suspected Boko Haram financier, Mohammed Maina was arrested with the sum of One Million Naira cash and some items, Col. Usman said.

Investigations according to the Army spokesperson, revealed that Mohammed supplied the terrorists kola nuts and other items, especially stimulants.

Mohammed further revealed that kola-nut was in high demand by the terrorists as it kept them active at night. 

According to the Army spokesperson, it appeared that Mohammed also plied the Maiduguri-Dikwa-Kulli axis, receiving money and other materials from Boko Haram sympathizers only to send the items back to the terrorists camps.
