Wayne Rooney has reportedly been exempted from Man United's squad for Tuesday's Champions League game at PSV Eindhoven due to an injury.
Rooney, made no appearance in Saturday's 3-1 win against Liverpool after straining his hamstring in training.
United boss Louis van Gaal has therefore decided not to risk putting the forward in action during Tuesday's encounter at the Phillips Stadium.
Tuesday's Champions League game marks the beginning of Manchester United's Group B campaign.
Two players who have neither made any appearance for the club this season, James Wilson and midfielder Andreas Pereira are however in the squad.
