A drunk man was caught digging up his father's grave, but told police officers that he was only trying to help his dad go to heaven
Michael May, 44, was reportedly seen at Pilot Baptist Cemetery in Stanford, Kentucky by passers by who were shocked to see him digging the grave of his father, who died 30 years ago the Mirror reports.
When police officer Delbert Mitchell, eventually confronted him, he started reeling out verses, and according to the officer, "He told me he was trying to dig his dad up, so his dad could go to heaven."
The man was however found to have been boozing and was suspected to have also taken drugs.
He was charged with possession of marijuana, public intoxication and violating a grave and was taken to Lincoln County Regional Jail, where he told officers: "I see the truth.
"[My father] needs to be on the ground. Not under it. If the truth doesn't come out and nobody sees the truth, yeah I'll do it again."
