Edin Dzeko, 29, has completed his move to Roma, joining the Serie A club on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

Roma will be obliged to purchase the striker for €11 million next summer -- "if certain conditions" are met, the clubs said -- as part of the terms of the €4m loan deal, bringing an end to his four-and-a-half year stay at City, ESPN FC reports

"I've been talking to Miralem Pjanic over the last few months and we always talked about Roma," Dzeko said last week. "He told me all the
good things about Rome; first of all how big of a club it is with the amazing fans, which I saw when I arrived.

"It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and it is a pleasure to be here. I am very happy and can't wait to get started." he said with excitement.

He has reportedly started training with his new teammates after passing his medical last Friday.

Dzeko on the club's website said "I came here to win titles with Roma. Hopefully we will win many, many trophies but first we have to work hard on the pitch and at the end, hopefully we will get where we want to be.

"I can only promise one thing and that is that I will give my best for this club in every game." Dzeko assured.

Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini described Dzeko as a "great player," however, he hoped to conclude a still bigger transfer.

"Dzeko is a great player, but I hope Roma's best transfer is still to come, I am very happy with this move, but the market is not closed yet for Roma." he said.
