The Nigerian Army has paraded two cyber fraudsters who specialize in impersonating military officers on social media to defraud the public.

The syndicate devise means of dispossessing members of the public of their money under the guise of facilitating their recruitment into the Army.

The army said it resolved to parade the suspects to serve as deterrence to other persons who may have similar intentions or who currently engage in such fraudulent activities.

It also said the suspects were paraded to alert the public to "avoid falling into hands of such fraudsters who do not have scruples about defrauding others"

"We also want to reiterate that members of the public should ignore Facebook advertisements for recruitment or commission into the Nigeria Army" the statement read.
