| PFN President-Felix Omobude |
The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN,) Dr. Felix Omobude, on Tuesday, urged Nigerians to accord respect and regard for President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking shortly after his arrival in Enugu for the 5th Biennial Conference of the Fellowship, he said it was wrong for some Nigerians to constantly refer to the President as ‘Baba Go Slow’.
“I will appeal to Nigerians to be patient with him; I think he is taking his time and so far we should just wait and see; he is a man of his words” the PFN president said.
It is the duty of Nigerians to support and pray for the President, rather than the verbal attacks on his person or position.
The stand of the PFN according to him is that “Nigerians have voted and we have a President; we have a government in place; the position of PFN is purely scriptural- that we should support the present government and pray and then that we might enjoy peace and progress in the nation; that’s the position of PFN" he said.
He further called on Nigerians to unite against Boko Haram insurgents, noting that he wouldn't claim "Christians are the only casualties; some Muslims are also being killed; Nigerians should see Boko Haram as our common enemy; this is not time to trade blames; we must all come together to defeat this common enemy called Boko Haram."
“I believe that a fraction cannot be stronger than the whole, no matter how strong they are” he later added.
