A new head of the multinational force on Boko Haram has been appointed, he is Major General Iliya Abbah.
The former head, Brig-Gen. Tukur Buratai, was appointed as the Chief of Army Staff by President Muhammadu Buhari, making it necessary to appoint a new head.
Major General Iliya Abbah, previously headed military operations in the Niger Delta, a military spokesman said.
