Lagos State University students, on Thursday, staged a massive protest, calling on the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, to wade into the crisis that has thrown the institution into what was described as "a lack of direction."
In a protest that caused serious traffic gridlock around Alaba, Iyana Iba, and Ojo barracks axis, the students decried the inability of the management to release a timetable for their examinations.
The President of the institution's Students' Union, Adeyemi Onikoro Wasiu, said that the semester had been running for more than seven months and there was no end in sight.
"Earlier in the week, we issued a three-day ultimatum to the management and the state government to resolve the protracted crisis between the staff unions and the management and immediately produce the guidelines for our exams. But as I speak to you, nothing has been done about it," he said.
According to the president of the union, the protest would continue until the matter was resolved.
