The Chief Security Officer to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Gordon Obua, was released on Tuesday night by the Department of State Services, after six days in detention.

Obua’s was released some few hours after he addressed a press conference to debunk rumours that he had died in custody.

Obua, who works with the DSS took ill while in custody, leading to speculations that he had died in DSS custody. He was however treated in a hospital.

The DSS organised a press conference where Odua debunked claims of his death, saying he was hale and hearty, and assured that the DSS was a responsible organization that wouldn't allow anything adverse befall him once it was ascertained he did nothing wrong.

He affirmed that he was only being taken to the DSS custody to give account of his stewardship as the Chief Security Officer to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
