Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, is back in the country after his four-day visit to the United States.
Top on the president's agenda was how to tackle and win the Boko Haram insurgency that has led to loss of lives, wanton destruction of properties and a rise in the number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
Buhari on the visit also sought for ways to strengthen the relationship between Nigeria and the United States. The U.S. has vowed to support Nigeria in military operations like training and intelligence handling.
The U.S. has also affirmed that it would help Nigeria recover stolen funds held in different foreign banks by officials who previously held public offices.

Some Nigerians have expressed concerns over Buhari’s approach to governance, saying he is too slow. The President has however reiterated that “slow and steady wins the race” and caution is required to restore Nigeria back to its glory days.
The President asked Nigerians to give him time as he will tackle corruption no matter who is involved, emphasizing that the quality of people in his cabinet must reflect zero tolerance to corruption.
The President promised to lead by example and remain fair, just and scrupulously follow due process and the rule of law as enshrined in the Constitution.
