Marilyn Ogar:
Former DSS spokesperson
The Department of State Services (DSS) has sent on compulsory retirement, its former spokesperson, Ms. Marilyn Ogar and 43 other senior officials.

Though the matter has not been officially made public, reports have it that the leadership of the DSS signaled the move on Wednesday night, without revealing the identities of the others.

Reports from PREMIUM TIMES however reveal that among those affected are: Abdulrahman Mani, former CSO to President Muhammadu Buhari; Adamu, former CSO to the former DG, Ita Ekpenyong, Yomi Zamba, and Gordon Obua, former CSO to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan among others.

You will recall that Ms Ogar was promoted Deputy Director alongside 44 others in the twilight of the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

President Buhari's administration however reversed the promotions, due to irregularities and breach of extant rules guiding such actions within the service.

After the change in government however, the erstwhile spokesperson was said to have been transferred outside the Abuja headquarters of the Service to Maiduguri.

As at the moment, the DSS does not appear to have a substantive spokesperson, meanwhile, Mr. Tony Opuiyo, an official of the DSS signs press statements on behalf of the Service.
