Marseille boss Marcelo Bielsa has announced his resignation minutes after their opening-day Ligue 1 - 0 loss to Caen.
Bielsa, 60, handed in his resignation letter to the club's president Vincent Labrune, before he announced his resignation move in a news conference.
The Argentine who had not told his players beforehand announced his resignation, saying "I have finished my work here, I will return to my country"
Bielsa was just starting his second campaign in charge, having finished fourth last season, and is believed to have decided to resign due to

"I do not regret having done what I did and I refused several proposals to stay at Marseille. I adapted to changes at the club. But, after three months of discussions, I could not accept that there were continual changes in the terms of my contract." he said.
Marsielle lost to Caen 1-0 with Andy Delort, scoring in the 27th minute of the game. "I am sad and frustrated because I did not expect this defeat," Bielsa stated.
