Ignatius Longjan - Plateau State Deputy Governor

The Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Ignatius Longjan, has denied leaving or planning to leave the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
The Plateau State Chairman of the APC, Late Dabang, had said on Thursday that the deputy governor has concluded plans to join the APC.
According to the APC chairman, Mr. Longjan has sent most of his campaign team to join APC.
However, Mr. Longjan, who lost the PDP governorship primaries, in press statement on Sunday, said he had no such
plans.
The deputy governor stated this in a statement signed by the secretary of his campaign organization, Garba Musa.
“The attention of the Longjan Campaign Organization has been drawn to a statement that has inundated the social media and the media saying that the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Ignatius Datong Longjan has defected to the All Progressives Congress,” Mr. Musa said.
“This has come to the Deputy Governor, the Campaign Organization and by extension, his teaming supporters as a surprise.
“Therefore, the Ignatius Longjan Campaign Organization wishes to categorically refute such insinuations and claims.”
Some top PDP officials or governorship aspirants have already joined the APC in Plateau.
A former PDP gubernatorial aspirants, Rufus Bature, is currently the director general of the APC governorship campaign. Mr. Bature has boasted that he would deliver Plateau to the APC.
Another former PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Sonny Tyoden, is the running mate to the APC gubernatorial candidate, Simon Lalong.
